Meet Ari
I specialise in independent AI strategy and governance advisory for Australian disability and aged care organisations, helping boards and executives model high-ROI use cases and manage risk to protect frontline care.
I work with organisations navigating the space between AI opportunity and AI risk, particularly in sectors where the people affected by a decision are often the most vulnerable. My approach starts with a clear-eyed diagnostic: I look at what’s actually happening inside an organisation, including the shadow AI use that leadership doesn’t yet know about, and I use that picture to build a governance-first foundation before any tool gets scaled.
For a federally funded research organisation managing highly sensitive qualitative data, I ran a full systems stocktake and data inventory, which surfaced fragmented internal processes and unmanaged AI use. From there I built a board-ready governance framework, including a sovereignty exclusion protocol and a mandatory Data Protection Impact Assessment process for any future AI adoption. I then mapped a multi-year roadmap that moved from low-risk administrative automation through to qualitative pilot projects and, eventually, predictive analytics, with pricing tied directly to a quantifiable business case around administrative hours saved.
For a state-wide community welfare and logistics charity, rapid growth had outpaced their manual, siloed systems. I led a data mapping exercise to find the structural bottlenecks and introduced a prioritisation framework I call RICE+Trust, which required any proposed AI pilot to clear a cultural safety and human-in-the-loop threshold before it could move forward. That work balanced quick administrative wins with a longer-term path toward automated routing and demand forecasting, always with volunteer and client safety as the boundary condition.
Responsible AI use is central to how I operate. I explicitly build AI usage terms into my contracts, personally review client-facing outputs, and use paid subscriptions to leading language models specifically for the added data protection they provide. Ethics isn’t a checkbox for me; it shapes how I scope engagements, how I advise on tool selection, and where I draw the line on what a client is ready to implement. I’ve turned down continuing an engagement when it became clear the board and executive buy-in needed for real implementation simply wasn’t there, even months after the roadmap had been agreed.
When it comes to tools, I favour working within what an organisation already has in place, such as enterprise Copilot or Claude, layering in industry-specific tools where the use case calls for it rather than pushing clients toward unfamiliar platforms. I’m still early in building long-term partnerships and group training programs, but every engagement is designed with that kind of ongoing relationship in mind. My focus stays on giving boards and leadership teams the clarity and safeguards they need to adopt AI responsibly, at a pace that protects the people they serve.
