Why this Vault exists
Everybody else is showing you how to become an AI consultant. Very few of them show you proof of it actually being done.
Here, we're going one step further. We're going to show you all three — the 30-day project, the 90-day project, and the one-year contract.
— Marc & Rob, co-founders of Innovating with AI
What's inside
A starter pack that takes you from your first $5,000 audit to a signed seven-figure retainer.
Not theory. Not "how to think about" AI consulting. Real anonymized proposals from working AICP consultants, the framework that ties them together, and a Claude skill that adapts them to your specific client conversation.
Three real signed proposals
A 30-day Audit. A 90-day Hybrid Build. A 21-month transformation retainer signed for $724,500. Anonymized, but the structures, prices, and ROI math are exactly as they were drafted.
A bonus training-led entry path
A canonical Stage 1 Bootcamp proposal modeled on a working consultant's nine-module signature program. Two ways into the same client relationship.
The ROI With AI Proof Process
The framework that ties the three stages into one coherent client relationship. When to introduce each engagement, what each one is psychologically doing, and how to hint at the long-term roadmap without pitching it prematurely.
The Claude skill
Downloadable. Lives in Claude Cowork. Tell it where you are in the relationship and feed it your discovery notes — it produces a draft proposal in the structure of the proposals in this Vault.
The story this Vault opens with
Nine months ago, Sarah was Googling "how to start a consulting business." This March, she signed a $724,500 contract.
Sarah was laid off in June 2025. By December she had landed her first paid engagement — an 8-week business process audit. By March 11, 2026, she had signed a 21-month transformation contract: $34,500 a month, seven phases, ninety-four tasks, with Decision Gates at every phase boundary.
Her audit became the entry point. Her ROI calculator (built as a React app) closed the CFO. Her decision to "go deeper than the scope required" turned a small first engagement into the largest contract of her career.
"I didn't plan to turn it into a $700K contract. I just didn't know how to do a half-assed audit."— Sarah
The three time horizons
Three real proposals. Three different problems they solve.
The 30/90/365 framing is not arbitrary. Each time horizon answers a real business problem an aspiring AI consultant is trying to solve right now.
Solves short-term cash flow.
A small first engagement — a 2-day Bootcamp or a 4-hour Audit — that produces a measurable win quickly enough to fill your pipeline this month.
Solves mid-term momentum.
A larger build or hybrid engagement scoped against the wins and gaps surfaced in Stage 1. Turns a one-off project into a real client relationship.
Solves long-term sustainability.
The retainer or multi-phase transformation. The destination — where you stop being a vendor and become the client's AI brain.
The action layer
Examples are useful. A skill that adapts them to your client is the difference.
Reading three real proposals tells you what good looks like. But proposals don't write themselves — and the gap between "I see how this works" and "I have a draft for the client I'm meeting tomorrow" is where most aspiring consultants get stuck.
The Vault includes a Claude skill — not another custom GPT, but a native Claude Cowork skill that lives in your working folder. Drop your discovery notes in. Tell it which stage you're in. It produces a draft proposal in the same structure as the proposals in this Vault, written against your specific client.
Setup takes ten minutes. The included guide walks you through it. Every proposal you save back to your context folder makes the next draft sharper.

Honesty about fit
Who this Vault is — and isn't — for.
This is for you if…
- You're an aspiring or early-stage AI consultant, somewhere between "thinking about it" and "two paid engagements deep."
- You can write coherent proposals but you're not sure what good ones look like at each price point.
- You want to see real numbers — real prices, real ROI math, real signed retainer benchmarks — not just frameworks.
- You're willing to write a draft proposal this week, even if it's imperfect.
This isn't for you if…
- You're looking for the "one weird trick" version of consulting. There isn't one in here.
- You're not actually planning to write or send a proposal in the next 30 days.
- You want a turnkey done-for-you template you can photocopy. The Vault teaches you to write your own — not to copy someone else's.
- You haven't done the work of finding even one prospective client to talk to. Start there first.

Who we are
Innovating with AI runs the AI Consultancy Project program — where Sarah, Brad, Thiago, Pete, Sean, and 1,200+ other AI consultants trained.
The Vault is a free starter pack. The full AICP program — live trainings, the private student community, the consultant directory, the deeper curriculum on lead generation, niche selection, and pricing psychology — is at innovatingwithai.com. We don't run hard sales pressure. The Vault is what it is, and the program speaks for itself.
Innovating with AI is led by Rob Howard and the IWAI Team.
Questions you might have
Frequently asked.
Is this really free?
Yes. The Vault PDF and the Claude skill download are both included free with your email opt-in. We don't ask for a credit card and we don't run a "free trial that auto-bills." If the program ends up being useful to you and you decide to investigate AICP later, that's your decision to make.
Are the proposals real or fabricated?
Three of the four sample proposals are anonymized versions of real proposals signed by working AICP consultants in 2025–2026. Client names, company names, and a few identifying tool references have been changed; the structures, prices, and ROI math are exactly as drafted. The fourth (the Stage 1 Bootcamp) is a canonical version constructed from a working consultant's actual nine-module program.
Do I need to use Claude to use the Vault?
Not for the proposals themselves — the PDF is fully readable on its own. The Claude skill requires Claude Cowork. If you don't use Claude, the proposals and the framework are still useful; you can adapt them with whatever AI you prefer or write them by hand.
I'm brand new to AI consulting. Will I be lost?
You won't be lost, but you may be ahead of yourself. The Vault assumes you have at least one prospective client conversation in mind. If you don't, the Vault is still useful as a structural reference, but the highest-value move you can make right now is finding your first prospect. The full AICP program is built for that earlier stage.
I'm a senior consultant already running a practice. Is this still useful?
Probably. The Stage 3 retainer structure — Decision Gates, two-stream pricing, multi-scenario ROI modeling — is the most under-taught content in the AI consulting world, and it's the structural skeleton that took one consultant from a $5K audit to a $724K transformation contract. If you're stuck at Stage 1 or Stage 2 and trying to engineer the move to retainers, the Vault's later chapters are written for you specifically.
How long is the Vault?
About 50–65 pages. You can read it straight through in roughly 90 minutes, or skip directly to the stage you're working on right now. Each chapter is self-contained.
Will you sell my email?
No, never. We don't sell, rent, or share email lists with anyone. After you opt in, you'll receive the Vault immediately, then the Innovating with AI newsletter — insightful AI industry analysis along with alerts when our programs, including The AI Consultancy Project, open for enrollment.
