Meet Diego
My name is Diego Varela Alvarado, and I run Nobaweb, a consultancy built on the belief that AI should work hard for your business — not just sit on a slide deck. I specialize in helping established businesses in Costa Rica, particularly in healthcare, hospitality, education, and industry, translate AI tools into real operational results.
My client work spans both training and implementation. I’ve delivered custom AI training programs to corporations managing multiple business units, such as hospitality, real estate, agriculture, and heavy machinery, designing exercises and content tailored to each team’s day-to-day reality. I’ve also trained teachers at a STEAM school on bringing AI into the classroom in ways that are practical for beginners. In industrial sectors, I’ve taken the same approach: grounding the training in the specific workflows of sales and operations teams.
On the implementation side, what often starts as a defined project tends to grow. A dental clinic engaged me for a website and, within six months, we had expanded into AI-generated video and image content, chatbot development, SEO, and staff training. That relationship has continued to grow, and it’s a good example of how I work: I look for the next problem worth solving, not just the next invoice.
I also run group training sessions for corporate clients, typically with around 20 participants per session, covering both introductory and advanced AI topics. The format lets me deliver meaningful impact at scale — something I find genuinely energizing.
Ethics is woven into how I work, not treated as a footnote. Before this training, I thought about AI ethics mostly in terms of data privacy and bias. Now I understand it as something more foundational — clients deserve a clear picture of both the upside and the risks, so they can make informed decisions. Before I build a chatbot or recommend a tool, I examine where the data comes from and where the system can fail. Every automated or AI-generated output gets a human review step before it reaches an end user. That’s not caution for caution’s sake — it’s how I protect clients from problems they didn’t know to look for.
