Meet Aaron
I’m Aaron Long, and I help U.S.-based businesses lay a strong foundation for adopting AI in ways that are practical, sustainable, and people-first. My approach to AI consulting is holistic, grounded in structured pathways that assess both the human and technical readiness of an organization. Whether it’s guiding discovery sessions, educating executives and/or teams, conducting readiness assessments, mapping processes, reviewing governance protocols, or helping design low-code or no-code AI tools, my goal is to ensure that AI is integrated meaningfully into the business for long-term viability.
Much of my work draws from my background in people development, executive coaching and organizational consulting. That lens helps me lead change management and prioritize worker experience, especially in a post-pandemic landscape where burnout is high and bandwidth is low. I see AI as a resource to give time back to teams—helping them work smarter, not just harder—and freeing them to do higher value work. It’s important to me that AI enhances jobs, not eliminates them. That perspective also informs how I guide businesses on ethics, especially when it comes to bias, transparency, consent, and fairness. Additionally, I’ve worked with—and inside of—IT MSPs, so I’m a bit of an “IT whisperer” and can work effectively with clients and their IT people (whether they’re internal or an external 3rd party) regarding their AI initiatives.
As there’s such a need for this holistic approach to AI (not just knee-jerk response to the hype), I’m excited to help businesses with their journey! While my leadership consulting and coaching has led me to work across multiple industries (legal, A/E/C, technology, non-profit, government, food service, etc.) I’ve worked with clients in the A/E/C, technology, and real estate industries for AI consulting, including a construction company and mechanical contractor, an IT MSP, and a real estate management company, and am actively building offerings for other industries that can evolve into ongoing support.
When it comes to client relationships, I’ve learned to vet carefully and look for the right “fit” on both sides of the table. In my broader consulting practice, I had to part ways with a prospective client early on because they lacked the right mindset. I look for three things in a client: humility (a willingness to admit they need help), hunger (a drive to take action), and responsiveness (an openness to guidance that may be contrary to what the client believes is needed). When those elements aren’t present, the partnership is unlikely to succeed.
The other piece of AI that isn’t talked about a lot or addressed is data governance. In addition to the AI solutions provided, I also help organizations with data governance audits in preparation for AI implementation. This piece is critical to ensure that the technical environment is secure – and the proper guardrails are in place – before releasing AI into file structures and systems. In this vein, I work with clients using the Microsoft Office Suite, have their files in SharePoint/OneDrive, and are wanting to deploy Microsoft Copilot 365 along with other solutions. While I don’t focus heavily on audio/visual tools, I tap into ChatGPT and Google’s evolving capabilities in that area when it suits a project’s needs.
